Case study: Timeline of service
A bar chart created for an education client. This timeline represents the lives of 25 leaders who dedicated their lives to serving and advancing their communities, either through science, the arts, political leadership, or education.
Each life is expressed as a form that communicates a subjective measure of the individual's social contributions throughout his or her lifetime. The width of each line and its resulting form correlates to the degree of service involved, based on the number of events they were involved in at a given point in time. A yellow dot along the line indicates a defining, key moment of service. This format reveals interesting information about each individual and enables a richer comparison between the 25 leaders as a set.
