Rethinking how people see their changing environment
Electronic redesign of an existing public map signage used at an Austrian ski resort. Based on an inquiry into how people use changing information in a ski resort environment, this visual prototype for an screen-based real-time display presents resort guests with information about their changing environment, such as weather, ski conditions and skier activity.
The map display's purpose is to help individuals understand their surroundings and assist them in their decision-making. The presentation is interactive, linked to personal information contained on wireless smart cards currently used in Europe and a few U.S. ski resorts. The design and content layout shown are copyrighted.
